The North Carolina Democratic Party will hold its 2024 State Executive Committee (SEC) Meeting and State Convention at the Ragsdale High School in Jamestown, NC.
The SEC Meeting will take place from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., and the State Convention will be from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m.
The Mitchell County Democratic Party Executive Committee will hold its regular monthly dinner meeting to discuss a variety of issues and make final preparations for the “Hot Club” event on June 29, 2024.
The Mitchell-Yancey (M-Y) Pride Fest Eve festivities will take place at The Dispensary and Upper Club in Spruce Pine, NC and begin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, June 14, 2024. There will be musci, dancing, a raffle, and more. The Mitchell County Democratic Party plans to have offer voter registration at the event.
On June 15, 2024, M-Y Pride begins at Noon and goes to 4:00 p.m. at the Celo Community Center (36 Sweet Cider Lane) in Burnsville, NC. This will be a family-friendly event with music, dancing, raffle, art, and community building. You may wish to bring a lawn chair and enjoy the day at the pavilion. There will be a food truck on hand to offer Venezuelan street food.
The Mitchell County Democratic Party will join other entities along the Creek Walk during the 2024 Rhododendron Festival.
We will be sharing information about voter registration, Democratic candidates, and copies of The U.S. Constitution And Fascinating Facts About It with visitors.

Join the Yancey County Democrats for the annual Clyde McIntosh Memorial Gala which will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. at the Burnsville Town Center (6 South Main Street) in Burnsville, NC. Tickets are $50 per person and that includes admission and a dinner plate.
This year’s keynote speaker will be Attorney General and the next governor of North Carolina, Josh Stein! You also will hear from other state candidates.

Our annual HOT CLUB fundraising event was held Thursday, September 19, 2019 at the Dispensary in Spruce Pine. The event included live music courtesy of “One Leg Up” jazz quintet, a silent auction, live cake auction, heavy hors d’ oeuvres, cash bar and door prizes. A fun time was had by all and much needed funds were raised to promote progressive causes.
